If your organization is a registered charity, a qualifying non-profit, or a selected public service body it can claim significant amounts of GST/HST paid in respect of its exempt activities just by completing a public service bodies rebate a couple of times per year.

There are at least 86,000 public service bodies in Canada and all of them are eligible to claim at least 50% of the GST or provincial part of the HST and some are eligible to claim much more (see rebate factors below).

With that said, claiming the PSB rebate may be difficult where you have limited knowledge of the mechanics of the rebate or technical help from someone like an accountant. If your public service body would like to claim the tax back, the CRA is more than happy to rebate it, but you have to complete the application/s.
